3D Printing Workshop EPSM 2026

The Additive Advantage

This year, EPSM will be hosting a 3D Printing Workshop on Tuesday the 24th of November.

Motivation

3D Printing has become ubiquitous in modern medicine. Although 3D printing is used commonly across therapy and imaging departments, it is not something everyone feels confident with. This workshop will provide an opportunity to share experiences, hear from experts and cultivate more confidence in the 3D Printing Workspace, and give yourself the additive advantage.

Who is this workshop for?

  • Medical Physicists, Radiation Therapists, Biomedical Engineers and Technicians who support radiotherapy services, and Mould Room Technicians – anyone who would like to learn more about 3D Printing and upskill with the guidance of local experts. Whether you have no idea about 3D Printing, or you’re a confident CAD designer, this workshop will have something for you.
  • 3D Printing Leaders in radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging departments – join us as we hear from TGA representatives about personalised medical devices and regulatory requirements, share experiences with peers and hear about the latest cutting edge 3D Printing Technology.

How to Register?

This event will be run on the Tuesday of EPSM. To join us, you will require a day registration for Tuesday the 24th November. If you’d like to join in on the wider EPSM program, you can register for the entire conference and indicate your interest in the 3D Printing Workshop during registration. We can’t wait to see you there!

Planned Outcomes

  • Sharing departmental approaches to 3D printing workflows
  • Understanding requirements for Therapeutic Goods Administration regulatory standards
  • Current trends and technology available in the 3D Printing world
  • Connecting with the local 3D Printing Community
  • Upskilling and feeling more confident with 3D Print design processes and overall workflows

Program Outline:

First Layer Thinking: Not familiar with 3D Printing in Radiotherapy and QA Applications? Grab a coffee and join us for an introduction to 3D Printing, where we will cover all the basics including materials, equipment, applications and software requirements.

Support and Structures: Our morning session will cover all the important topics to create a solid base for the rest of the program. This session will go over a snapshot of the Radiation Medicine 3D Printing Landscape in Australia and New Zealand, the therapeutic regulatory landscape for personalised medicine, as well as some examples from institutes who are experts in additive manufacturing.

Print Your Future: This mid morning session is all about hearing examples from departments who have an existing 3D Printing Program. We have an exciting line up of radiation therapists and medical physicists who will share their experiences, what worked and what didn’t.

The Infinite Build Plate: This session will focus on 3D Printing diagnostic imaging applications, and will include a show and tell session where you can see 3D Printed Creations up close and personal, ask their creators questions about the design and process, and get some inspiration to take back to your own department!

From Blueprint to Build: 3D CAD Workshop! Ever wanted to upskill in the 3D Design space? Dream of being the go to person for your department when it comes to 3D printing and design? This workshop is for you! Our experts will be there to support you as we take you step by step through the process of creating a unique design using CAD software!
